most businesses that are started, our company
has been established to service a specific
niche. It is said that "experience shows us the
way." After brokering and selling
businesses for over ten years and teaching in
SCORE entrepreneur workshop classes in Richmond
Virginia, there became an awareness of the
necessity to reduce the costly investment of
business equipment for potential entrepreneurs
to get into business and veteran business owners
to turn either unused or unwanted assets into
cash.
Buying furniture, fixtures and business
equipment (FF&E) to establish, operate and
sustain a business
requires not only financial resources but also
good judgment.
From a position as experienced business owners
ourselves, we found that we had an excess of
assets of business equipment and office
furniture in great condition that were not being
used, but even worse, we had placed some items
in storage. On a monthly basis, we paid to hang
on to a conference table, guest chairs, extra
desks, file cabinets, photo copiers, cubicle
partitions, laser printers and much more. We
obviously were not maximizing our financial
resources. It was time that we needed to counsel
ourselves and turn these unwanted and unused
assets into cash for other business investments.
How would we sell or trade these items?
Should we place them on eBay? What we
needed was a business forum that focused on
small and medium sized businesses that wanted to
sell off business assets and not a platform that
auctions anything and everything.
With over
thirty-five years of business experience
we decided to establish such a forum where both
new and veteran business owners can buy, sell or
trade used assets. We also feel that this type
of forum should also serve
to provide business owners a link directly to
qualified professionals that are associated with
business equipment both in valuation and sources
of equipment financing. In addition, we will
strive to provide articles of education from
equipment appraisers, brokers, dealers, finance
companies dedicated to information about
business equipment.
Ultimately
we plan to position
UsedBizStuff not only as a forum to buy, sell
and trade used business equipment, but as the
Used Business Equipment Resource.
